A young man has been taken into custody and sent to jail for making inappropriate remarks about Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Facebook. This information was confirmed by a police official on Thursday.
According to the police, a case was registered against Sanjay Bharti, a resident of Paligra village in the Chitbadgaon police jurisdiction, based on a complaint filed by Moti Chandra Gupta, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the area. The charges were brought under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
The complaint alleged that Sanjay Bharti used offensive language and issued threats against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his Facebook post. Additional Superintendent of Police Kripa Shankar stated that the accused has been apprehended and is now in custody.
